5 Sexiest Perfumes For Women

Most women love perfume. They may not wear it every day, but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t like to. Unfortunately, most of the really fantastic numbers out there cost a good bit of money. Which is why you’ll be an instant charmer if you make her a gift of her favorite scent.

The first thing you need to do is figure out if she’s slave to anything in particular. And she might be – I wore only Chanel No. 5 for close to 10 years. I wouldn’t wear anything else, no matter what. I wasn’t even willing to try. Luckily for y’all, most women are less inflexible than Isabella!

If there’s something she particularly loves, you can go ahead and get her a bottle of that – and look forward to a nice long night of her saying thank you. If you want the gift to be a surprise, just casually check out her dresser top or bathroom countertop – but be sure she doesn’t catch you doing it.

We don’t want her thinking you’re a super nosey stalker who wants to go through her things. If you haven’t a clue as to what she loves, or, if you’d like to surprise her with something new, the following perfumes are a pretty safe bet. I can’t guarantee she’ll love it, but I think it’s pretty likely she will. I’m extremely selective and I love everything on this list.

Chanel No. 5

This perfume is really a timeless classic. This is a very clean, sophisticated scent. It’s not particularly musky, nor is it sweet or fruity. I love this, it’s my favorite. I’ve been wearing it for 12 years and I have yet to grow tired of it. Coco Chanel named this No. 5 because that was her lucky number. I’m betting it was quite lucky for her fortune.

Coco Chanel

As you may have guessed, this is another product from Chanel. There are actually several Chanel perfumes, some also named as numbers, but I’m not really fond of them. This is the only one I purchase with regularity. A light, clean, musky scent that still manages sophistication. Very sensual scent.

Dolce & Gabbana's Pour Femme

There are a number of D&G perfumes available – this is the one in the red velvet box with the red cap. I just started wearing this one recently, and let me just tell you it’s fantastic. It just has this characteristic that has me constantly sighing with pleasure. I love the way this stuff smells. It’s somewhere between clean / crisp and naughty / sensuous. It’s truly excellent stuff.

Lacoste’s Touch of Pink

This comes in a very cute pink bottle. That’s precisely what drew me to it, as I probably wouldn’t have tested it otherwise. While I’m a big fan of Lacoste’s cologne for men, their perfumes have never really done much for me. And while I don’t actually own this one, I wouldn’t at all mind receiving it as a gift. I wouldn’t use it every day, but I’d certainly use it a few times a month. It’s light, airy, crisp and girlie. If this sounds like your woman, go for it.

Calvin Klein’s Obsession

You’ve smelled this, surely. It’s an extremely popular perfume in the US and elsewhere. Very sensual, very sexy, very lasting. I admit, I love the smell. I don’t personally wear it because my sister overindulged to the point I have flashbacks when I smell it – but that doesn’t change how lovely it is. In other words, anyone not related to my sister would likely love to receive this as a gift!

Perfume buying tips:

  • Buy the 1.7 oz bottle: Those are the prices I’ve listed. This is neither too small, nor too large. The teeny versions will make you look cheap, cos she wouldn’t bother buying those for herself, even. The large ones could end up being a waste of dosh if she doesn’t like it.

  • The difference between Eau de parfum and Eau de toilette is the concentration: Toilette is a less concentrated scent and is therefore a few bucks cheaper – but no so much you’d really notice. I personally use eau de toilette, because I prefer the lighter scent. If faced with one or the other, it really doesn’t matter which you choose.

  • Don’t buy a refill unless you know she has a rechargeable bottle at home: This will be labled on the box – or you can ask the salesgirl. For example, I have a refillable Chanel No. 5 bottle at home, I buy the refill when I run out. If you buy her a refill of something, but she doesn’t have a reusable bottle, it might seem a little strange.

  • Make sure you’re buying what you want: Most manufacturers have several brands, and they aren’t always simply labeled. Meaning, there is Coco, Coco Mademoiselle, Chanel No. 5, Chanel No. 19, Obsession, Obsession Night, etc. None of them smell the same, so be sure you’re getting what you really want.

  • Tip: Spend an extra 5 bucks and have it gift-wrapped.

Women LOVE opening presents. Most of the shops which sell these types of things offer free gift wrapping and it doesn’t hurt to ask. If they don’t, there’s sure to be somewhere else in the mall that does. Stop by on your way out, it will take 5 minutes. When you see how lovely it looks, you’ll be glad you did.

Perfumes during Summer !

Many perfumes may be experienced as heavy and cloying when worn in the heat of summer, not only for the woman wearing the scent, but for others in the room. Women’s fragrance may be worn year long, but during the summertime when body temperatures rise and increase the concentrated qualities of most perfume, certain guidelines should be followed to get the most from fragrances for women when expensive designer scents or discount perfumes.

Choose lighter scents during warm months like a fragrance shower gel rather than more concentrated perfumes. Citrus, light florals or fruity scents are not only more desirable during hot months, but can also be used as a splash when feeling wilted for a quick pick-me-up from the heat. Lighter, airy scents of women's fragrances are more easily tolerated by the public as well.

Less is better! No matter what scent of women's fragrance is chosen, use less and apply more frequently if needed. The scent will linger and the heat will add to the body’s ability to radiate the fragrance, but the heaviness of too much perfume will be eliminated keeping any womens fragrance from becoming overbearing.

Apply all fragrances for women differently in the summer than in cooler months. Instead of spraying fragrance directly on to skin, spray straight up into the air and stand beneath the cloud of perfume which will fall lightly onto the body in an all-over pattern. Womens fragrance applied in this manner covers a wider portion of the body with a gossamer-like layer, leaving a lovely aura of scent and less likelihood of having applied too much.fragrance may be worn year long, but during the summertime when body temperatures rise and increase the concentrated qualities of most perfume, certain guidelines should be followed to get the most from fragrances for women when expensive designer scents or discount perfumes.

Spray or apply woman’s fragrance lightly to clothing instead directly on the body. Fabric holds the scent longer and less fragrance can be used. Spritz a light touch of fragrance in hair for a nice touch of scent which also will hold the aroma longer than skin.
Place an old fashioned cloth hanky in pocketbooks or briefcases with a small spray of a favorite fragrance on it to keep a purse or tote bag smell'ing fresh. When feeling overheated or perspired, the hanky may be used to gently wipe the brow leaving a touch of delightful scent of any number of fragrances for women chosen to suit the day‘s mood.

Be Beautiful !

If you want people to think that you are beautiful, attractive and good, then the easiest way to do it is to select the right perfume.

From its inception in human history, cosmetics have always played different roles in making people presentable. Perfumes are one of the most used cosmetics since then, even though they were not made of synthetic contents as of today. But the fact remains that in ancient times, perfumes were used as part of ritual cerimonies. Back then aromatic grasses, wood and spices like cinnamon, cardamoms and fenugreek were squeezed into fluid to produce perfume.

The word "perfume" has originated from a Latin word "parfumare" meaning "through smoke". Archeological researches say the concept of perfume came from Egypt. Of course, followed by other Chinese, Indians, Romanians and Greeks before the whole world made it daily-essential in their lives.

Even though in the ancient culture perfumes were considered womanly affair, in today's world there are as many male versions of perfumes as female ones. Some of the famous brands of male perfume are: Dolce & Gabbana, Hugo Boss, Jean Paul Gaultier, Tommy Hilfiger, and Weekend for men and many others.

Beware that brand perfume by itself is not considered a fragrance. There are style conscious men who wear perfume according to their moods. There are perfumes that go with their schedule, for instance corporate, semi-casual or casual perfumes. Some of the corporate brands of perfumes for men are Sean John, Armani, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Hugo Boss which are the most chosen perfumes internationally for corporate getup. While Armani has a few corporate fragrances with woody flavors, together with Calvin Klein perfumes are supposed to be most luring with a heavy masculine touch.

Also, Hugo Boss has been a famous brand, for both its cost and class. You don't have to earn like a CEO to wear Hugo Boss, but it certainly does make everyone to smell good!

There is a range of must-wear perfumes for party freaks, avid bikers or those to want to smell great even on weekends: Weekend for men, though is a new brand, does have a whole range of fragrances to make one's weekend sensual. Hugo Boss new collection with aqua elements are always recommended for casual wears. For bikers or car race fans - Ferrari, DKNY or Tommy Hilfiger are among great choices.

Where should a woman wear perfume? The answer is simple wherever they want to be kissed! We cannot talk about perfumes if we don't talk about women. Perfumes play a great role in women's sensuality.

All time favorite for any woman when it comes to perfumes are Christian Dior's collection: Dior's Jadore and Addict that have been in the market for a long time. For women who want to smell a bit sweet and yet want to leave a whiff of smell behind, it is suggested the latest collection of Burberry perfumes. And if sensuality is something your partner is luring for, go for Nina Ricci's spring-summer collection. The other perfumes that you can pick are Escada, Gap, or Tommy Hilfiger's exclusive girl's collections when you want to accompany him on a car race.

Apparently, a perfume is bottled to blend with natural odor to create a distinctive fragrance for your personality. So, you must use a single brand of perfume to make your signature style perfect over days and days. Last but not the least, you must not wear perfume over sweaty clothes to cover bad body odor, it makes the vicinity around that personal intolerable. Perfumes, as the saying goes were used as a tribute to Gods so they must be sprayed when you are clean.
